PALO SANTO

Palo Santo is a tree native to South America, and translates to "Sacred Wood." Only harvested after falling naturally in the forest, Palo Santo has renowned cleansing and medicinal properties. When burned, Palo Santo releases a very delicate smoke that can be used to dispel negative energy, while leaving positive energy intact. Palo Santo burns very slowly, so after catching light, each 4” stick will burn for about 3-5 minutes before going out on its own. Used daily, one stick will last for approximately one month. Each bundle comes with two, five, or ten sticks tied together with recycled sari silk ribbon. Our Palo Santo comes from a fair trade distributer in Peru who is actively involved in safe harvesting and reforestation efforts, working with the government to ensure this sacred tree is not over-harvested. It is only ever harvested after the tree has fallen naturally, then aged for about 5-10 years to allow the natural oils to reach the heartwood.
